News – Hospice of the Good Shepherd is our new Charity of the Year

Chester’s Grosvenor Shopping Centre has announced Hospice of the Good Shepherd as their newly crowned ‘Charity of the Year’.

The shopping centre, which has previously supported charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support, is set to support the hospice by increasing awareness and fundraising.

The hospice is a respected provider of palliative care for residents of Cheshire West and Chester and Deeside that provides services free of charge to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses. With less than a third of annual running costs coming from government funding, the remainder is generated through fundraising, donations, events and corporate partnerships.

Julie Webb, Grosvenor Shopping Centre Manager, said: “We are extremely proud to announce our partnership with Hospice of the Good Shepherd. The hospice offers crucial support to patients, families and friends through difficult and painful times by providing practical, emotional, social and spiritual support. We hope people can show support by donating what they can afford to help raise funds.”

Abi Smith, Corporate Fundraising Manager for Hospice of the Good Shepherd said: “Funds raised will allow us to continue our caring support for patients and their loved ones, including our child bereavement services.

Our treatments include common sense, kindness and compassion”
